Are you looking to reduce your stress levels, relieve your anxiety and any feelings of resentment? The combination of Sue’s knowledge and her practical approach is the ideal complementary therapy to help you grow and “allow joy” into your life!

So what is the Emotional Freedom Technique? The EFT Tapping technique is a mind body therapy that stimulates traditional acupressure meridians / points by tapping them with your fingertips whilst repeating carefully chosen words and phrases. Tapping can change your perspectives and it is used to release you from the pressures in your life and give you back your emotional freedom.

It is a very effective method to alleviate and uncover any blockages from past / underlying issues and help you focus. Anyone can use EFT and it’s popular with professional sports personalities, actors, business people and you or I! For best results choose a specific feeling, thought or memory that has an emotional sting to it. Write it down in one sentence and then grade on a scale from 0 (least important) to 10 (most important). Reappraise this after you have finished your tapping session and there will almost certainly be a change in your feelings towards what you have penned down.

In 2007, Sue became an advanced level EFT practitioner, her skills also range from public speaking, teaching and leading workshops to being a Reiki Master Teacher and Foot Health Practitioner. This range of interests and obvious passion for her subjects allow Sue to have an understanding yet professional approach to her work.

Sue’s presentation is informative and light-hearted and soon, we are all on our feet chorusing: “Even though I have this issue of ….., I (deeply and completely) accept myself.” The choice of language though can depend on your intensity of emotions. Our chorus of words was directly followed by us all tapping ourselves and although we copied Sue, she had also prepared hand-outs so that we could practise this technique at home. Each point is tapped on by the index and middle fingers between 5 and 7 times and she assures us that if you forget the sequence of tapping, it won’t make any difference.

Sue spoke about how EFT can be used on children and animals and her experiences of this and also how it helps with fears and trauma. She spoke of some excellent examples of EFT helping Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. These were case studies documented by the founder of EFT, Gary Craig. His original background was in engineering and the solid structure of EFT can also be an extremely effective tool when working with those with Autism and Asperger’s.

EFT is about helping you accept yourself, liberate you from your own personal issues and empower you. Sue is a naturally positive person who will listen attentively to help ensure you maximise your potential in life.

We were reminded that EFT is considered a Complementary Therapy in the UK and should not replace seeking qualified medical advice.
