I originally began putting my poetry to music a number of years ago when I was in my first band “Gardenia”.  Although, our band never made it any further than the local park, I then moved to Austria where my dreams of writing lyrics became a reality and “the hills were alive…”  I was recognised for my skills and if you’re looking for someone to write lyrics to your music, get in touch.

I LOVED YOU

I never thought I’d still love you
The waves are crashing and the water’s oh, so blue
I never thought I’d still love you
You were my hero, what am I now without you?
I loved you, I loved you
How I loved you, I loved you.

Long ago
In times of old
Our moments were so precious
My heart was filled with gold
… with gold

I never thought I’d still love you
The waves are crashing and the water’s oh, so blue
I never thought I’d still love you
You were my hero, what am I now without you?

Help me to discover
My life now that you’re gone
And then I may believe
I’m carrying your son

(Sung in an echo)
And my heart…
…drags without you near
Your soul is by my side
I live life without any fear

Standing here
As I look out to the sea
Alone on this rock
Emblazoned by the fire of love I see

I never thought I’d still love you
The waves are crashing and the water’s oh, so blue
I never thought I’d still love you
You were my hero, what am I now without you?

A WASTED TEAR

Why have I found that I’ve missed you
When I felt so reassured?
That I was strong enough to leave you
when you gave me no reward.

My life with you was brutal
Full of hatred and disgust
But I always looked up to you
You were someone I could trust

You had a bad beginning
But I thought you’d change
With a lot of love and caring
I believed I’d heal your pain

I gave my soul up to you
I lived for the moments we’d share
When we were happy and contented
Together we’d fly through the air

I made the break completely
When your anger went too far
I ended up in the hospital
Where my neck still bears the scar

You could have killed me…
I could have died…
Why did I think that I loved you?
Why didn’t I see through your lies?

My memories were only bitter
You’re a menace and a cheat
Who I dedicated my life to
When I should have been finding my feet

Today, I’m living for tomorrow
And not leading a life of fear
You were someone I looked up to
Though now a wasted tear

Though now… A wasted tear.

DIG YOURSELF

When you think it’s all over
And the time has flown by
Don’t be deceived by others
Or an adolescent cry

For help when you’re pulled
In a direction unknown
Or pushed in a corner
Or under a stone

Dig down deep
Dig into your soul
Find out what’s within
And you’ll reach your every goal

Look from the inside
When you’re happy not sad
Don’t be drawn in by others
Be yourself and be glad

We’re here in this lifetime
With this chance to be free
Look around, up and down
Look through things and see

Life’s not what you think
There’s a depth to be seen
We’re alone, but together
Like the ripples of a stream

So dig your own feeling
And learn from them all
Dig the person you are
And have yourself a ball

Dig down deep
Dig into your soul
Find out what’s within
And you’ll reach your every goal
