How to Balance your Chakras

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

How can you balance your chakras to increase your wellbeing?

We have 7 chakras which are the main energy points in our body. It therefore stands to reason that if these aren’t optimised, our energy levels won’t be optimised.

What are these energy points and how can we make sure they are optimised?

The seven chakras are the:

A guide to your 7 chakras and where they are on your body.
A Guide to Balancing your Chakras

7. Crown Chakra, violet

6. The 3rd Eye Chakra, indigo

5. The Throat Chakra, blue

4. The Heart Chakra, green

3. The Solar Plexus Chakra, yellow

2. The Sacral Chakra, orange

1. The Root Chakra, red

If these are out of sync, our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing will be “out of balance” so it is always beneficial to find balance, realign your chakras / energy points and help yourself by letting them work in harmony.

Firstly, why do our chakras become blocked and do we all react the same?

The answer to the latter is no, everyone’s chakras respond differently to different stimuli. For example, worry and stress about finances for one person may not have the same effect on another person. Blockages and imbalances can occur from grief, trauma, negative influences and daily stresses. If you aren’t able to release such negativity, it can cause a block in one or more of your chakras which can cause physical, emotional and mental problems and anxiety.

How do we balance our chakras?

I’m going to share with you my 5 #TopTips for balancing the chakras:

1. Nature

Go for a walk, surround yourself with plants, walk barefoot… Embrace the power of nature and take time out to appreciate your beautiful surroundings. If your surrounding aren't very green, treat yourself to a plant / care for a plant.

2. Breathe deeply / Meditate

Sit comfortably or lie on your back.

Breathe in slowly through your nose and allow your stomach to fill with air. If you place your hand on your stomach, you will be able to feel your stomach rise.

Breathe out slowly through your nose and feel your stomach lower to its original position.

Repeat this 10 times.

3. Be creative with your emotions

Be guided by your intuition and what you feel. Paint, write, use clay, knit… Create something from scratch and don't feel daunted by a blank page / new idea.

4. Colour

Have you ever felt like wearing something bright and colourful? Go with your feelings and intuition - it is probably your blocked chakra talking to you. If your root chakra is the one that is blocked, you will be in the mood for wearing red.

If you've discovered a chakra you would like to work on and unblock / strengthen, add that chakra's colour to your food. Again, for the root chakra, eat more strawberries, radish, red peppers and tomatoes...

5. Raise your vibrational frequency

Be kind and show gratitude.

Pay a compliment to someone you know / a stranger.

Do some exercise / stretch.

Daydream - visualise the version of yourself you want to be / doing what you want to do

Listen to music

If you would like to know more about each individual chakra and the signs of imbalance, I’ll be writing another blog soon about this specific topic...

I look forward to hearing how you like to balance your chakras and if my tips above have helped you?
